Hey there!
I'm here to share some exciting news about our 2nd TRC Investigative Reporting Fellowship!
First off, let me introduce you to our new TRC fellow, Meenakshi Kapoor. Meenakshi is an environmental researcher and lawyer who’ll be joining our team for the next two months.
It was a tough task to choose from 35 fantastic applications in this round. While we couldn't take on all the great stories pitched, we did decide to accept one more investigative project. That's where our Special Grantee, Kashif Kakvi, comes in. He's a multimedia journalist from central India who'll be tackling a unique story that caught the eye of our editors.
Meenakshi will be diving into a project that touches on our Political Economy and Environment themes. Meanwhile, Kashif's story promises to be a blend of crime and politics, falling within our theme of Governance and Accountability.
Picking these two from all the applications was no easy feat. We looked at everything from originality, and feasibility to evidence to make sure we chose the most promising project. We can't wait to see the top-notch investigative work they’ll produce.
None of this would be possible without you – our amazing supporters who believe in what we do. It is your donations that keep this fellowship going, helping young independent journalists across India take on ambitious investigations.
If you'd like to keep supporting us, consider donating now.
We’ll keep you posted about our fellows and their work!
Best,
Furquan Ameen
